New to Morse code? No problem! Our CW Slow Speed Practice Net is designed to make learning CW fun, relaxed, and supportive. Here’s what you can expect:
Slow Pace: We’ll send at a speed that works for you. Beginners are encouraged to start slow—no pressure!
Round-Robin Format: Each participant has a turn to send and copy messages in a friendly round-robin style.
Check-Ins: We use NetLogger to track who is participating, but it’s optional—you can join just to practice.
Learning Support: Operators at all skill levels are welcome. Our more experienced members are happy to help and answer questions.
CW practice is about patience, persistence, and confidence.
Tune in to 3.541 MHz CW on Tuesdays at 7 PM local time and make steady progress with a welcoming group of KLARA hams.
The KLARA Digital Net meets every Thursday evening at 7 PM and focuses on keyboard-to-keyboard amateur radio communications using a variety of digital modes.
From classic modes like RTTY and PSK to modern soundcard and weak-signal formats, this net is all about experimenting, learning, and sharpening your digital operating skills.
Our usual frequency is 3.584.5 MHz, though the specific mode may vary from week to week. This gives operators the opportunity to gain hands-on experience across multiple digital platforms in a relaxed, roundtable setting.

The Green Eggs & Hams Net was created in 2021 by two ambitious young hams from near Naples, NY: Max (WT2A) and Joseph (KD2VYT). After earning their Amateur Radio licenses, they launched this weekly net to connect hams across Western New York. What started as a youth-led initiative has grown into a welcoming, regional net for hams of all ages and experience levels. It’s a great example of young operators keeping amateur radio vibrant and fun!
Coverage includes 13 Allstar linked repeaters from Buffalo to Rochester region, and Ontario, Steuben, Allegany Counties and Potter County PA. Repeaters systems include; N2AAR (KLARA) System, WB2KAO-Rochester, KC2KOO-Buffalo, W2WDS-Naples, KD2PFE-Alfred, NK20-Wellsville, WA3HLC-Ulysses PA, plus several other Allstar nodes.
Known for its relaxed, friendly atmosphere and strong regional participation, the net welcomes all licensed amateurs—whether you’re checking in locally or linking in from across the region.
